Lower 9th Ward Memorial Park:
a 6-foot granite monument, an American flag atop an 80-foot pole
and a series of 12 graduated columns that grow in height
from 1 foot to 12 feet to mark the height of the floodwaters.
The plan also calls for the partial replica of a
Lower 9th Ward house with two chairs outside to represent
the area's neighborly "stoop culture."
Benches and landscaping will complete the park.

It's important to point out that in contrast to the effortplaced in constructing this sculpture,
no rebuilding has begun in the lower 9th ward as of yet.
